It would be great to find people I knew wayyyy back when....I know there was a bunch that were pretty shaky back in the early 80's---

i often wonder if my old witness friends from my past are still in the 'truth' (god i hope not)?
i know this site is pretty popular amongst ex-witnesses.
and since most of us have 'fake names'...we could be talking to someone that we already know.

it's been a while since this topic has been brought up.
use it as a chance to see if there is someone you might know from years past.

the thread about got me thinking about my very early childhood, back when witnesses were allowed to be social and have get togethers.
they also had a piano in every congregation i ever attended, and an older sister would always play the kingdom melody.
there was actual singing - not mindless droning and humming.
The only way I recall the singing of the songs was being accompanied by a little old sister on the piano. I don't even remember what we would do if she was sick or away-maybe she never was!!!
I didn't even realize that they don't have live music played anymore-how sad is that? At least it was a little more "heartfelt" than piping it through a stereo system, or however they do it now.
Ah well, I guess you really CAN'T go home again-what a shame-hee hee...LIG
just wanted to write about my experience in coming out to my parents in the last two weeks.
it's a long story, but my sister and i are both gay, but we haven't come out to our parents until now.
my sister and i have been debating with each other the best way to come out to them because we've known that it would be a serious blow to them.
Wow, that must be such a heavy weight lifted off your shoulders. Good for you.
My sister is gay-she did not tell any of us until after my JW Father passed away in 1992. She told my mother and I shortly after that-and although my mom has had some tough times dealing with it(she is a pretty strict Baptist), in the end she knows that this will always be the daughter she loves, nothing changes that, and that you just have to be accepting.
My sister and her girlfriend actually got married last summer, and surprise of all surprises-my mother walked her down the aisle. Never in a million years did I expect to see something like that.
Just goes to show you though that we don't give people enough credit as to how they will deal with certain situations that come up!

7 reasons not to mess with children.
a little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.

Hilarious! Thanks for the laugh....LIG
they have been broacasting tornado watches for the area just west of torinto - right where halton hills (part of canadian bethel).
there are also watches for the ontario panhandle which is the area where grace/mouthy is and a few other posters here.. i wouldn't mind if bethel disappear but hope no gets hurt.
take care all you folks down in that area.
Can't blame you for being a wee bit afraid Morty-especially when something like that comes up and all of your babies aren't home-as long as you can account for everyone's whereabouts, it's never quite so bad.
Glad to hear you weathered it through-we had the odd branches and leaves lying around the lawns this morning, but nothing too bad.

Apparently one touched down around Guelph as well(right near Hwy.401)....doesn't sound like anyone was hurt though.
Quite the storm went through here around 9pm last nite-lots of wind and rain...but that was all, thank Goodness.
Survived another one-

I'm in the Brampton area-usually they do this though and nothing ever happens other than maybe a bad thunderstorm...but it sure stirs up a little excitement in the work day!!!

now that we have entered the hot season, my question is what is your flavor of choice when it comes to ice cream.
i have to say for me there is nothing better than a premium vanilla.
sounds boring, oh no.
Bubble Gum(although I haven't seen it in a long time)...it was like two treats in one-ice cream and gum...
.
anything in particular?
?
I hated standing out in the hall at school during the national anthem and Lords Prayer-cruelty to kids...
And going as a group to a movie and NOT standing up for Oh Canada while everyone around us made rude comments.
Now I stand and sing PROUD AND LOUD!!!!!
